Summerville did not plan on returning to the Lowcountry as 5A Division 1 state runners-up. That was the status placed on the Green Wave following its 62-56 defeat to Blythewood. Daugherty had one more outstanding performance in the high school ranks in her as she led Summerville by tallying 22 points. Daugherty also made nine of her 21 attempts from the field and grabbed four rebounds. She not only competed in basketball but also at volleyball. On the court, she consistently displayed her versatility with her ability to play at the one, two, three and wing. Daugherty departs from the high school realm having scored over 1000 points in her career and will play her college ball at Abilene Christian.

Daugherty plays the game with such a great feel for the game. Molly who is already committed to Abilene Christian University in Texas after her high school career is over for the Lady Wave. She constantly plays around the ball on both ends of the court if it means rebounding, handling the ball up the floor, defending on the ball or shooting the rock. Molly knows where to be at all times and plays the game with a lot of HUSTLE.

Molly really came to play this summer and recently at the SCBCA Elite Camp. She jumped up to #6 in the class after being ranked #17 last time around. Molly and sister Emma give the Lady Green Wave a strong duo in the Lower State in Class 5A.
Molly has a nice skill set to finish drives to the bucket when she’s not looking for an open teammate on the floor. She does a great job of rebounding the ball well from her position on the floor. Daugherty is a shot maker from the perimeter and does it at a very high clip.

Molly gave the best performance Prep Girls Hoops saw here today. At one point she connected on like 5 straight three pointers in a game stretch. She played extremely aggressive on both ends of the court. Molly was able to set-up her teammates with her ability to penetrate-kick into the lane. She plays the game very unselfish and never looks to force any shots on the floor.
Molly utilized the old school bounce pass when she was hitting a mid-range jumper here today. Daugherty had a good Grassroots Circuit season and picked up some offers along the way. She plays the game with a very good skill set and IQ.
Can Summerville be the team to beat in Class 5A in the Lower State this season?
