The Wash U commit was one of the best players on the floor during their game against Glenbrook South, and that goes for both teams. On many occasions I’ve preached how well Molly just fits into systems. She plays her role with the upmost focus and energy.

Wash U has found another strong player that can bring a ton of value to their program when she arrives on campus. Molly is known for being a jack-of-all-trades type of talent, and that was on full display all summer and through a couple of games this season.

The recent Wash U commit has been on a lot of coaches and scouts radar this past AAU season and when you actually sit down and analyze her game, you understand why. She can be plugged into many different roles, and she doesn’t seem to have an ego for whatever that role is or isnt. She can score if needed, and has no problem defending all positions is asked.

Friesen is an intresting prospect that shows a ton of value for a program if you know what you’re looking at/for. Versatile, long, and dynamic as they come. She’s one of those players that covers a ton of ground over the course of a game. On the defensive side of the ball, she can guard 2-4 and do it effectively. When it comes to the offensive side, she can score from all over. She’s going to be a big piece for Zurich this upcoming season.

With a ton of talent around her at Lake Zurich, Molly seems to “blend in”, but that is depending on what you’re looking for. When you really breakdown the film.. this kid is everywhere, and there is no change of effort in AAU either. Shes aggressive on the drive, impactful on the boards and can give you 8-10 points just off being a hustler. A type of player that is needed on any program.

On the defensive side of the ball Molly displays all the tools to be a lockdown defender. Her motor, her instincts and her awareness show up in all aspects of her game as well. Offensively, she moves well without the ball, is a threat from beyond the arc, and crashes the boards with a purpose. A key piece for a program.

Taking a leap in the rankings, Friesen has been one that has been on the radar. Her solid frame and instincts are key to her being impactful in the 3&D role. Molly makes plays with the ball and without, and a majority of her decisions usually end in a positive outcome. She can knockdown the catch and shoot three, she can attack the rim to finish and create plays, all while maintaining enough energy to be effective on the defensive side of the ball too. Lake Zurich will be a competitive team this year, and Friesen will be a big part of that success.
