It was truly as stellar season for Sena, the fundamentally-sound floor-general for the West Mesa Mustangs, as she led the State with a whopping 5.6 assists per game!

The ability to create off the dribble, adds another element to Sena being an outstanding facilitator. Due to the dribble-penetration in the lane, the defense is forced to collapse. This results in Sena getting easy drop-offs in what is called the ‘dunker spot’ and or kick-outs to open three-point shooters.

Then again, Sena is a capable scorer in he own right with a knack for getting to the charity stripe. In 25 games played, Sena averaged a cool 18.1 points per game, finishing with 228 total free-throw attempts. Sena shot 80 percent from the foul-line when it was all said and done.

The 2024-25 season was a breakout year for Sena who averaged a commanding 18.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.1 steals for the Mustangs in 25 games played. What’s more, Sena also led the State in Assists with 5.6 per game!

In the end, the skilled senior point-guard tallied eight double-doubles and one triple-double for West Mesa en route to being the team leader in multiple statistical categories.

It was a stellar January for Sena, who not only logged three double-doubles, but also recorded four 20-point games and one 30-point outing. What’s more, Sena reached double-figures in all 10 of the Mustangs games. Additionally, Sena had five games with at least 10 free-throw-attempts, two games with 10 assists and one game with 10 steals.

Altogether, the senior point-guard averaged 19.7 points — on 42/25/80 shooting splits — 3.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 5.0 steals for West Mesa.

To say Sena has a knack for getting to the foul-line, is an understatement. Sena finished January having made 77/96 free-throws!

In week 8, Sena posted an extremely efficient 21.5 points per game on 50/50/88 shooting splits for the Mustangs who went 2-0. Additionally, Sena averaged 9.0 assists and 6.5 steals, impacting the game in more ways than one.

When operating in the half-court, the senior point-guard not only displayed a knack for getting to the the foul-line (FT’s: 16/18) but a willingness to get her teammates involved (18 AST). To date, Sena leads the State in assists, dishing out 5.3 per game.

As a junior, Sena appeared in 25 games for the Mustangs. The fundamentally-sound point-guard averaged 11.2 points with 34 three-pointers on 35/34 splits. Addtionally, Sena averaged 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2,3 steals per game.

For her career, Sena has 588 points in 74 games played, which averages out to 7.9 points per game. Sena has had different roles throughout her career due to West Mesa dealing with injuries, transfers and other circumstances. Now in 2024-25, Sena is the no. 1 option who is slated to have a big year!

Mustangs 2023-24 Record: 9-17, 1-9

Although Sena was the Mustangs leader in PPG, RPG and APG this past season, the belief is that she can reach another level in terms of her production and execution. Monique is a fundamentally sound PG with a good feel to her game. She can create off the dribble, not only for herself but for her teammates.

In 25 games played, Sena averaged a quiet 11.2 points on 35/30 splits, totaling 34 three-pointers. Furthermore, Monique collected 5.8 rebounds, dished out 3.3 assists and came away with 2.3 steals per game this past season.
