About Morgan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a defensive specialist first and foremost. My AAU coach believes that is the most crucial skill over any other. I attack in the post, am not shy of physical play and am aggressive around the rim. I work on assisting teammates by setting screens, getting open and rebounding.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an extremely hard worker, according to my coaches, and am constantly looking to improve my skills, fitness and strength. Outside of practice I go to shoot360 sessions, work with teammates on mastering plays, attend weight lifting sessions twice a week and watch basketball videos to develop my basketball IQ and work on specific skills. Most recently learning how to better take a charge.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

*Scholastic Gold and Silver Key recipient two years in a row for photography *Logged over 175 volunteer hours for a variety of projects from Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Earth Day event, Park clean up, Basketball camp counselor, and most recently donated over 39 handmade hats and scarves to the Knit The Rainbow charity.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a very positive and supportive person who will step into a leadership role when appropriate and will always have the back of my teammates. I am an active listener and am always willing to get feedback from coaches and teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a lot of medical challenges when I was younger, which has caused me to be lighter than some of the Centers I face. I am working to overcome that through nutrition, physical therapy and weight training. I was able to put on 12 pounds over the past year and have a similar goal for this year. I find alternate ways to muscle larger players through loading and how to push off to create space.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a small to midsize liberal arts school that has a pre-physical therapy/exercise science or kinesiology degree program. I hope to become a physical therapist. I am passionate about basketball and would like to find a team where I can make a difference and grow as a player. I am open to attending college in a variety of states and in rural, suburban to urban settings.
