About Myka

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I can play anything you give me. I can be scrappy at times. I like to play quick but I also know when to slow the ball down. I prefer for my team to get the rebound so I or someone else can get the fast break layup. And lastly I can shoot from anywhere.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very passionate when it comes to basketball so I play with a lot of passion. I am also a player that doesn’t look just for herself to get the shot I would rather find a way for my teammates to get the points so I’m a very selfless player. I also can take charge and be a leader as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have played aau basketball ever since 3rd grade and I have played school ball basketball since 2nd grade. I currently play for legacy Force at legacy courts in Lafayette Indiana.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned ball IQ and leadership. I have also developed my ball handling and my shooting over the years when I was in elementary I was considered a post but since middle school I have made the transition into a ball handler and shooting guard.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced challenges when it came to multiple teams with my confidence my middle school year was the worst it had ever been because of the coach I had and I have also dealt challenges with other players being selfish and just overall mean and rude to me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for any college that will give me a shot and believe in my ability to bring something good to the team I just love basketball so much I would do anything to keep playing it past high school.
