Nakiah Barrett sets the tone with her defensive intensity. She applies constant pressure to opposing ball handlers, using active hands and quick feet to disrupt possessions before offenses can ever get comfortable. That same aggressiveness carries over offensively, where her speed allows her to attack seams in the defense and create opportunities inside the arc. Rather than relying solely on getting to the rim, Barrett mixes in a polished pull-up jumper that makes her even tougher to contain. Her ability to impact both ends of the floor gives her tremendous value every time she steps on the court.

Barrett brings some real tenacity to the court on both ends of the floor, starting with her defense. She can smother the ball and disrupt the rhythm and flow of opposing offenses. She’s also a quick guard who can dart down lanes, and plays off that ability to penetrate with a pretty effective pull-up jumper.

Nakiah has been playing amazing to start off her high school career for Bonney Lake. She has great speed and uses it well on the defensive side of the ball, creating many turnovers for her team. She attacks the ball down-hill well, using both hands and finishing through contact well. She started off her career with 18 points, 14 steals, and 5 assists against Yelm.
