Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
An instinctive and tough defender from Eastern Oklahoma. It’s a running theme when the PGH staff sees Ellingberg that she’s bringing it on the defensive end. Her quick hands are the best examples of the instincts she has, capable of steals and even battling around the rim. Plays strong with those quick hands when she’s rebounding in traffic. Because she’s based outside the metro ares of Oklahoma, she’s a bit of a sleeper prospect. But the production and aggressive mindset she brings to the court are loud.

Energy on defense stands out. Capable of stepping out onto the perimeter and pressuring the ball, or playing taller than her size on post match ups. Has quick hands which allowed her to deflect and outright steal the ball against taller players. Including impressive determination to rip away a rebound on a missed offensive free throw, than immediately scoring. Simply relentless in the way she rebounds for a young wing, and is not afraid to mix it up around the rim. Saw some interesting flashes from a perimeter skillset. Including the poise and confidence to split a double team and get to the rim. Can see why she had a huge freshman campaign in Eastern Oklahoma.

A very dynamic guard that caught my eye with the aggression she plays with on defense. Defense at times was her best offense int he senses the more intense the defensive play got the more effective she was in scoring. Excellent transition offensive player that made good decisions on to finish to kick the pass to open player. High level scorer that attacked the gaps in the spread offense. Showed mid-range pull up jumper off the drives also. Strong defender that gave up little ground on the ball pressure. Another solid player in that amazing 2028 class

The freshman was named newcomer of the year for the eastern Oklahoma based NOAA conference. She combined with her older sister, Kayla (2026) to be an one-two punch for the Lady Bulldogs. Along with being a productive scorer, Ellingberg often made her mark on defense. With consistent games producing multiple blocks or steals. Good athlete, with good anticipation to be in the passing lane or stay with the opposition and block shots. Her Hudl highlights paint a good picture of a scrappy freshman, who’s already impactful with room to grow.
