One more season remains for Asbelle at the high school level before the collegiate realm awaits her. It was in October when Asbelle declared she would be in the Division I ranks at UNC-Asheville of the Big South Conference. Asbelle has put together an illustrious career with Andrew Jackson – one that saw her be part of the nucleus of a pair of 2A state championship teams. She played in 31 games last season and averaged 20.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.6 steals per game. Those are certainly Division I numbers for someone with the Division I-level talent Asbelle possesses.

Asbelle is a very skilled player and really understands on how to stuff a stat sheet. Ni’yonna was extremely effective with shot selection here today and production. She finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals for good measure.
Asbelle plays the game very vocal and in constant communication with her teammates. Ni’yonna dropped some mid-range jumpers when she wasn’t scoring the ball in transition.
