A small guard that plays with a big heart and a ton of hustle. Olivia plays with a vibe of I am going to outwork you on defense and offense. Used a picket dribble to get the defender off balance before hitting them with a move. Impressive was that she would get the defender protecting the layup finish then she would pull up on the spot hitting the jumper. Good shooter off the dribble moving sideways the dribble or coming a ball screen. Tough defender on the ball that made it difficult for opposing guard to set up their offense.

Rankin is an athletic guard that gets rebounds and pushes the ball out middle to create. Beyond her speed, I was impressed by her understanding of when to pull the ball out and not force anything. She plays off the point, but still has the ability to control the tempo for her team.

Rankin also gave me an eyeful at the Neville Jones Invitational and her first step during the “3 on 3” and her body control on her finishes after contact had me smiling. During the “5 on 5” I caught the HEZ and that was a game-changer as she scored off the dribble, with solid body control after contact. Her jumper from midrange was nice, yet her “catch and shoot” from deep was special as she dropped it with a hand in her face. She saw the floor and applied “on the ball” pressure baseline to baseline, as well as in the set
