Stumm has been labeled as a true 3 and D type prospect at the SG position so I can’t wait to see what she does this weekend at the 16U level with her Over The Edge AAU program. Whenever you have a prospect at 5’10, who moves effortlessly off of the basketball, you might have a killer on the hardwood. Someone that can shoot over most matchups put in front of her at the high school level while also being able to have her game translate to the next level eventually within the next few years. Along with being able to shoot over smaller matchups, Stumm can also switch defensively between a few of the Guard positions on the outside with her lateral quickness. She isn’t a liability on the switch and that’s what really makes her standout as a well-rounded hooper right now. This OTE team looks STACKED with talent out of Illinois so it’s definitely going to be a group we keep a close eye on this weekend.

Stumm will continue to establish herself as a standout in her class over time. She has the makeup of a true 3 and D prospect, and that type of versatility should allow her to fit into and thrive within all kinds of schemes. There is still more room for growth, but the majority of her skill set is already moving in the right direction.

Paige made an impact in every game I was able to watch this weekend. Defensively, she stood out with how well she moved her feet, competed, and used her length and wingspan to make things difficult. But for the purpose of this piece, her shooting off the catch is what really deserves the spotlight. Paige was a true corner specialist this weekend, consistently making defenses pay when they rotated away from her to help at the rim. She knocked down a ton of threes from the corner, and the mechanics looked compact, clean, and repeatable. One thing that really stood out was how ready she was to shoot before the ball even arrived, which helped her get right into her shot with strong energy transfer. She is definitely a player worth tracking moving forward.

Stumm plays the game a little more mature than her class level may show. Offensively, she can hurt you from all levels, but for me, her playmaking is what stands out. It’s not necessarily the assists, it’s her knowledge of when to swing the ball to get a better look, or when to cut just enough to take away the eyes from another teammate. Rather its itentional, or all instinct.. regardless its impressive at this age.

Having length at a young age is always a benefit as players grow into their skill set. Stumm has the perfect size to choose between three positions to mold her game. She can be a spot-up shooter at the 2, facilitate the offense at the 1, or be a slasher at the 3.
