Paizley has two qualities that college coaches are looking for: shooters that are consistent and reliable from outside and size at the guard position. Hicks is a very good shooter both from the mid range and the perimeter and at 5’9 with a quick release she has no problem getting her shot off. I knew that going in, but Hicks showed more to her game at the Sophomore ID Camp by putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket by driving both middle and baseline. Hicks is a strong kid and she did a nice job initiating the contact with defenders as she shielded the ball on her drives both dribbling and finishing in the painted area. There is a lot to like about her game and I look forward to seeing her play again soon.

Hicks is a big, strong, well-rounded guard for Carrollton. Even as a freshman, she has already played a lot of high-level, very competitive basketball. Hicks plays with a high basketball IQ and a level of maturity rare for someone her age. She handled and passed the ball well for Carrollton against a veteran Midtown team and their pressure on defense. She has the ability to be a very good rebounder and defender at the guard position. Hicks has great shot mechanics and is a big threat from three-point range.

The big guard was impressive again, scoring from all three levels against North Paulding. Hicks posted 11 points and 2 rebounds. She netted threes and showed physicality and patience when attacking downhill. She looks, moves and plays differently from most freshmen.

The freshman enjoyed a breakout performance, draining four threes on her way to 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in a win over Pope. Hicks is physically imposing for a freshman guard. Her aggressive mindset and smooth shooting touch project for an accolade-filled career.
