Knife is the type of player whose value becomes more apparent the longer you watch. That was certainly the case when we saw her live this summer in Rapid City. Peyton may not immediately command attention, but possession after possession she finds ways to help her team. The 5’10 forward from Maȟpíya Lúta brings strength, physicality and a willingness to handle the less glamorous responsibilities that contribute to winning. Knife rebounds aggressively, protects the paint and uses her size and vertical ability to challenge shots. She has proven on South Dakota’s biggest stages that she can deliver when the lights are brightest. Offensively, Knife can score around the basket and has gradually extended her range to the 3-point line. Her combination of toughness, versatility and consistent two-way contribution earns her a place in the top 60.
