Rachel is a sharpshooting prospect who we were very excited to see competing at The Expo on Saturday and I appreciated the brief conversation we were able to have early in the day. Rachel showed her ability to set up teammates with her dribble and make solid passes during the 3v3 segment. Unfortunately, Rachel had to end the day early because of injury and we wish her a full recovery leading into the high school season.

Balhorn was an explosive ball handler. Her crossover had defenders stumbling. Balhorn was able to cross her opponent, draw the defense and dish to her teammates.

Balhorn possesses an impressive outside shot and can score from anywhere on the court. She exhibits good movement and positioning to create scoring opportunities off the dribble. Balhorn was recently named to the 1st Team 16u All Tournament Team at the Victory Region Finals. She’s a legit shooter with athletic finishing skills.

I’ve always been very high on Balhorn’s game as well as her upside. First of all, she’s a scorer at heart and does it at a very high level. Balhorn can be a lighting bolt offensively. On top of that, she’s an excellent rebounder than can play way bigger than her height. Balhorn can be found with her Michigan Anarchy 2025 team.

Balhorn utilizes her strong hands near the rim which helps her in being a very high percentage scorer. She can also put the ball on the floor, create space, and score in a variety of ways.

I was very impressed with the way Balhorn developed her offensive game over the spring and the summer. She showed the she’s equally a threat with her jumper from deep as well as putting the ball on the floor and creating.

As a rookie, Rachel led her team in scoring, rebounding, and steals. It will be interesting to see what she can do for an encore. She is a big time scorer that is going to command constant respect from opponents.
