McQuarters’ high school career sadly came to an abrupt close this week after an eligibility issue eliminated Sapulpa from the playoffs. It’s a shame for McQuarters and her teammates. The senior is one of the most dynamic guards in Oklahoma. She’s explosive, tough and makes it happen on both ends of the court. She’s been a factor since her freshman season, when Sapulpa won the Class 5A title. And played bigger roles in State Tournament runs the last two seasons. During her senior season, she showed the ability to fully take over games. Scoring quickly and bunches. While also racking up the steals.

The Sapulpa senior turned it on in the second half, leading to 28 points. She skies in the air to pick off errant passes like a DB, then is instant offense. Either navigating her way to the rim and finishing with power. Or stopping and draining mid-range jumpers, like she did to end 3rd quarter. McQuarters has been a game changer since her sophomore season with her combination of power, explosiveness and scoring chops.

McQuarters was dropping DIMES as well as giving me a “CHANGE” of pace handling the ball, yet her court vision was a HUNNID. She uses her athleticism on both ends; her “on the ball” pressure was smothering at times, and she attacked the basket to score from, well, everywhere. Her jumper looked good, so her timing to block shots, yet her UPS to elevate and rebound was a huge plus, and I wrote OTC down, it’s the acronym for “off the chain”

A all around guard is the best way to describe Riki when you watch this young lady play. She just plays the game as I call it. Does whatever is needed for her team to succeed. Just put her anywhere on the floor and she will score, rebound and play defense. The versatility she brings allows her to play on the outside as a driving scoring guard with a nice mid-range pull up. Then against a zone she flashes in at the high post and becomes the facilitator picking apart the zone defense. High level scorer that has recorded double doubles and over 30 points in one game I know of. Riki has received several offers and is still drawing interest from other colleges.

Explosive and strong, McQuarters is a terror off the bounce and in transition. Especially with how high she gets on jumps to finish like a much taller player. Add in her on the money mid-range jumper, and she’s one of the toughest players to defend in Oklahoma. Always such an entertaining watch, because of her combination of athleticism and all out effort.

A combo guard that allows her defense to become her offense. A up tempo guard that excels in a pressure type system. Strong finisher at the rim mostly going off 2 feet to elevate into a nice jumper. Good mid-range shooter off the bounce allows her to change dribble speed to get to the basket for layups. A player that recorded several Double Double last seasons with points and steals.

Quick, fast and strong, good luck keeping McQuarters out of the paint. She’s a dynamite player who explodes off the floor for tough finishes, as she plays like a taller guard. She’s nearly averaging a double double on the year with 16.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Another 1,000 point scorer for her career on this list. Finished the regular season with a 30 point explosion against Jenks, and will make Sapulpa a tough out in the 6A playoffs.

A powder keg of a guard, McQuarters plays bigger than her size because of her quickness, explosiveness and strength. The way she elevates near the rim especially standouts. She has fantastic lift when finishing and the power to match when dealing with contact. Either finishing strongly or drawing fouls. Those athletic traits also cross over in how she rebounds at a high level for a guard. One of the more entertaining watches in Oklahoma because of her impact production.

The sophomore lead guard is a very unique prospect. As she’s a super strong and has great quickness in a compact package. At her height, grabbing 14 rebounds in a state semifinal game is ridiculous, especially as 6 of them were tenacious offensive boards. Along with the rebounds, she lived at the rim and scored 20 points on only 11 shots. From tough finishing to earning trips to the line, she was simply unstoppable on Friday night. Now Sapulpa aims for a second straight Class 5A title.

A spark plug of a guard, she’s quick off the floor which shows in her finishing abilities and also with the way she rebounds very well for a guard. McQuarters had 13 huge rebounds on the day. Her 9 points left her just short of a double-double.
