We will be in the building this season to see Riley Meyer of Okoboji High School. Meyer, the Dordt WBB commit, has been one of the top producers within the state in recent history. When you go back and watch the games that this Okoboji team has played over the last three years, you notice one common factor to their success and that factor is Meyer. Her playmaking ability, how she gets others involved with simple movements and the way she leads vocally is very impressive. If she can keep that up moving into college down the line, I’m sure she will be someone we hear more and more about at Dordt as they look to bring another NAIA National Title home to the state of Iowa over the next few years.

Commitment: Dordt (IA)

Dordt locks in another really talented guard from within the state in Riley Meyer of Okoboji High School. Meyer has been a name we have mentioned a few times over the last couple of seasons because of her levels of production within her conference and within her Class level throughout the state. This is a PG with elite vision and a next level ability to find her teammates with the pass. It doesn’t matter if it’s within the half court or in transition. When Meyer gets the rock in her possession, her teammates need to get their heads on the swivel because she is always looking to make things happen off of her creation. Dordt is going to be loaded at the Guard position over the next few seaons and I’m not sure how Meyer fairs in that conversation. She has proven that she belongs on the team already. Once she gets on campus this next season she will need to prove that she deserves some minutes throughout her Freshman year. A task that won’t be easy but it will be do-able.

You could say that Riley Meyer is an overall artist on the offensive end, even though she knows how to get hot from deep in a hurry. Meyer is that quick Guard, that most can’t stick in-front of. Whenever she breaks through the first layer of the defense, she is accurate at finishing through contact or she can hit open teammates within a small window. She is good at getting down hill and that helps her create space to shoot from three point land. Defenses have to take a step off to account of her speed and it kills them when she steps back to knock down a jumper.
