River fits in great with Central McLean’s uptemp pace of play. The Cougars love to press and push the pace which translates to a ton of quick shots and possessions. River is able to play with toughness, speed, and vision when playing in the press which results in a ton of turnovers and easy baskets for her team. She is good at doing the ‘run-and-jump’ man-to-man press where a secondary defender leaves their girl to come and trap the ball while everyone else gets into intercept mode. Her effort in keeping space on offense and playing hard-nosed defense has Central McLean coming into the season with high expectations.

River moves very similarly to All-State teammate Morgan Snyder Morgan Snyder 5'7" | CG Central McLean | 2027 State ND .  They have similar builds and speed on the court.  They typically are the top girls in Central McLean’s full-court press.  River does a good job of turning opponents and using active hands to disrupt passes.  She has a good first step and can get by defenders in the half-court.  She keeps space in transition and in the half-court with her cutting ability.  Her hands are shot ready and she is able to knock down the deep ball.
