Ryan was one of the biggest risers in the PGH Michigan State Tournament, and she turned in a memorable weekend for GR Outkast 17U. Ryan excelled on Saturday and took her game to volcanic levels on Sunday. In game one, Ryan refused to lose, churning out a dominant 26-point performance. She lived at the free throw line, sinking eight, and buried two triples in the second half. Ryan continued to shine in the semifinals, fighting for rebounds with a relentless pursuit of the ball. She swiped the ball away with quick hands and motored down the lane to score a tough and-one layup in traffic–completing the three-point play at the line. She answered the opponent’s triple with her own from the corner on the next possession. Ryan sized her defender up with a jab step and drilled a smooth wing triple. A play that captured Ryan’s determination was when she leaped high into the air to bat down an outlet pass, grabbed the ball, and finished the layup with power off two feet. Ryan scored 12 in the first half alone and contributed in every category to help the team compete all weekend. She has been selected First-Team All-Tournament.
