About Sabreya
Expert Analysis
Bret Swanson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sabreya picked up plenty of college offers this summer on the Grassroots Circuit. Monsanto just brings ENERGY at all times to the floor with her MOTOR that never stops running. Sabreya averaged 15 ppg, 10.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4 steals last season. She brings good versatility to the floor with ability to play multiple positions.
Sabreya has taken 3 official visits this spring to UNC-Wilmington, East Tennessee State University and Hampton University. She told Prep Girls Hoops she plans on making a decision next Thursday September 26.
Can the Highlanders win a 3rd straight state championship this year?

It is only fitting we transition from Jacobs to one of Jacobs’ teammates – not only at Heathwood Hall but also at Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite (not to mention previously at Cardinal Newman). Could the Windy City await Monsanto once she calls it a career with the Highlanders? She revealed recently on social media that Division I Chicago State extended an offer in her direction. The 5-foot-11 combo guard, who is also a multi-sport athlete given she has competed in track and field, softball and volleyball, averaged a double-double this past season at Heathwood Hall. She posted average numbers of 15 points, 10.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, four steals and one block per game in 23 games as Heathwood Hall won another SCISA 4A championship this past season.

Monsanto recently picked up an offer from Chicago State University. Sabreya really has a great nose for the ball with her willingness to rebound, handle the rock and playing defense at all times. She can take the ball coast to coast at times in transition.
Monsanto plays the game with so much HUSTLE and EFFORT at all times on both ends of the court. She constantly plays around the ball. Sabreya must still work on her perimeter shooting for the next level.

Monsanto is fresh off another SCISA Class 4A State Championship this season for Heathwood Hall. Sabreya was able to leak out in transition on several occasions today and score the rock. She was able to finish at the basket with her left-hand on handful opportunities today. Sabreya NEVER looks to take a play off while on the floor.

Containing the SCISA 4A juggernaut that is Heathwood Hall means hoping to keep its core four in check. For all of Military Magnet’s defensive success over the last few seasons, the Highlanders posed too tough a test for coach Nathaniel Taylor’s Eagles. Monsanto proved to be a key reason why as she finished her game with 26 points in a 72-54 win over the Eagles. Monsanto wasted no time placing points on the board as she tallied 16 points in the first quarter alone. Another element of Monsanto’s game that makes her such a problem for opposing teams is how her 5-foot-11 height helps in the rebounding game.
