Columbia International and Columbia College are among the schools that have extended offers in the direction of the star veteran of 3A Woodruff. Burnette displayed exactly why she is on the radars of programs such as the Rams and Koalas. Her Wolverines were locked in a tight contest with 5A Boiling Springs in the final matchup of the day. The 18 points Burnette placed on the scoreboard made a huge difference in earning the Wolverines the win. What was also notable was how she got the 18. She did so by draining six 3-pointers – breaking her own record in the process for most triples in a game.

The final team to be in the win column as Saturday’s play at Woodruff HS concluded fittingly was – the team representing Woodruff HS. The Wolverines defeated 3A Seneca by a final of 44-31 in large part because of the heroics of its star junior. Burnette concluded her game with 19 points. In appropriate Burnette fashion, she sank four 3-pointers to lead the Woodruff attack from behind the arc. In fact, those four 3-pointers were the only triples that were made by the team. Burnette also displays impressive handles, knows how to organize an offense in a halfcourt set and knows when to score and when to pass.

Burnette is a talented player that will make a ton of noise next high school season. She’s a terrific shooter both off the catch and the dribble. Burnette has a nice little head fake that she can use to create space for her shot. She plays the angles very well on the defensive end, giving her the ability to put the ball handler in uncomfortable positions. Burnette has underrated offensive and defensive court vision.

The 2025 standout from 3A Woodruff has become a fixture with Upward Stars Upstate over the years. One must particularly watch out for Burnette when she has the ball behind the 3-point line because she will take – and connect on – her attempts from downtown. Burnette will look to find spacing out on the perimeter, but also understands when the right time is to pass and when to score. She displays her versatility on defense with a willingness to defend either on the perimeter or in the interior and this only helps her prowess as a rebounder. Defensively, she can create additional possessions for her team with the number of steals she collects.

It was only fitting that one of the top performers from the day at the Upward Star Center would be wearing an Upward Stars Upstate 2025 uniform. Burnette led her team with a 14-point effort in an evenly matched contest against a Charleston Raptors 2025 Red team that went into overtime. Burnette as the game went on displayed a talent that has become a hallmark of her overall game over the years – the ability to drain 3-point attempts. Burnette’s defense enables her to create additional possessions for her team with the steals she collects and rebounding is another of the strong points to her game.

At the end of Saturday’s slate of games, it was time for host school Woodruff to take to the court and Burnette made sure the fans in attendance drove home with smiles on their faces. Burnette was willing to take (and make) a good number of her attempts from 3-point range. She also displayed impressive court vision and proficiency in the passing game. While still relatively young in a high school basketball sense, Burnette consistently passes the eye test of being an on-court leader. She scored 19 points as the Wolverines concluded the day’s play with a win over Greer Middle College.

The younger Burnette will be a name to continue to keep one’s eyes on in the coming seasons. She played at the middle school with Woodruff MS before she arrived on the scene at the 3A high school. Burnette is gifted at organizing an offense in a halfcourt set and plays the game on contact which means she will have plenty of chances at the free throw line. She showcases with regularity how gifted she is as a ball handler and will take her fair share of 3-point shot opportunities. Burnette will also make a number of plays near the rim and is an all-around hard worker.

Sadie is the younger of the two sisters Burnette that wear the maroon and gold colors of the 3A Wolverines throughout the high school season and the uniform of Upward Stars Upstate throughout the AAU spring and summer. Burnette understands how to organize an offense in a halfcourt set, delivers impressive ball handling skills and is willing to try her hand at the 3-point shot. She puts in plenty of work to find open spaces to receive the ball and is a hard worker on both ends of the floor. Getting to the free throw line and making plays near the basket are two other hallmarks to Burnette’s game.
