Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sage is one of the best forward prospects that people don’t know about because she’s not playing travel basketball right now. She’s a very talented softball prospect as well. Sage has 6-foot length, pushes the ball in the open court with pace, finishes with strength around the basket, blocks shots, causes disruptions in the passing lanes, and can shoot mid-range/three point jumpers. If she played travel right now, everybody would know who she is. She has the potential to develop into a wing and move up as we watch her play against college-level players.

Sage is a talented volleyball player who’s also a phenomenal basketball prospect. She had a great day for Hemlock at the Au Sable Shootout. Sage combines effort, hustle, length, and skill to make an overwhelming impact on the court. She caught passes with good hands inside and went up strong to score off two feet. Sage was active on the offensive glass throughout the game and made an outstanding hustle play by sprinting to chase down a loose ball and throwing it off a defender to save a possession. She moved to open space off the ball and knocked down a smooth baseline jumper. Sage went on a stretch where she took over. She batted down a pass up top, secured the steal, then pushed the ball up the court with pace using both hands, scoring a contested layup. On the next possession, Sage swiped the ball away up top again, pushed with her off hand all the way to the basket, scoring the contested layup off two feet.

Sage is a tall, physical, and skilled forward from Hemlock. She released the ball at it’s highest point and knocked down free throws. Sage caught a pass with soft hands in the high post, used a reverse pivot, and buried the jumper. She swiped the ball away and dropped in a mid-range floater with touch. Sage snagged a pass, used a power dribble, and scored in traffic off two feet. She has good passing instincts and plays beyond her years. Sage made a great first impression at the Hemlock Holiday Classic and will be a very impactful player for years to come in the Huskies program.
