About Samantha

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Pass-first point guard who controls pace and prioritizes winning possessions. Recorded 100+ assists with a 6:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Strong decision-maker who creates for teammates and protects the ball. Applies full-court defensive pressure and takes pride in doing the little things like boxing out, rebounding, and playing tough every possession.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am competitive, coachable, and team-first. I bring energy and hold myself to a high standard. I enjoy being coached and making quick adjustments. I stay composed under pressure and focus on making the right play. I work on my game consistently and often train 2–3 times a day in the summer. My mindset is to do whatever it takes to help my team win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Alex’s Army, where I help support community initiatives, and I also assist with youth basketball camps. In addition, I have played the drums for the past eight years, which has helped me develop discipline, focus, and consistency outside of sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Basketball has helped me develop leadership, communication and accountability. As a Point Guard, I organize the team and make sure everyone is in the right position. I lead by example, stay positive and keep teammates engaged in all situations. I take pride in strong teamwork and understanding how to bring out the best in others. I focus on making the right decisions and being someone my coaches.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I have faced is being underestimated because of my height. I have used that as motivation to separate myself through effort, skill, and basketball IQ. I take pride in defending bigger players, applying pressure, and competing every possession. It has pushed me to become tougher, quicker, and more disciplined, and it is something that continues to drive me every day.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that values strong academics, competitive basketball, and a positive team culture. I plan to study Psychology, so finding a school that supports both my academic goals and athletic development is very important to me. I am looking for a program where I can contribute as a point guard, continue to grow my game, and be part of a team that competes at a high level.

Smart player who sets her teammates up with good passes for high quality shot opportunities for her team. Plays with good pace and poise when the ball is in her hands and can play both guard positions.
