About Sawyer

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a team before self type of player that sees the floor well, and I love to pass it up the floor on a fast break. I am a threat from 3, have a consistent pull up jumper, and can take it to the rim.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am extremely competitive and love to work hard. I am a leader who leads by example and gives positive feedback.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently the president of my Young Women’s class. I also help train my Uncle for Special Olympics Basketball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The years that I have been playing organized sports has definitely given me the gift of leadership. I know when to call something out, and when to say it was my bad even if it wasn’t.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

While I wouldn’t consider it significant, I had a slight knee injury at the end of last summer where I had to rest it for a few months. Coming into basketball season with my body not 100% was something I have never done. It was hard to have weaknesses I wasn’t used to, but so rewarding to see my hard work build and strengthen them.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to go D1 but I want playing time. Ideally I would like to be a short plane ride from home, join a winning program, and have a coach that pushes me hard but respects and trusts me as a player.
