I saw Shantel when she was younger and felt like she could be one of the better guards in Marion County in the 2026 class. Warren Central is always deep with athletic guards, so it was tough to stand out there, and this season she transferred to Tindley where she averaged 14.9 points, 4.6 assists, and 5.3 steals per contest. She has an athletic frame, length, strength, speed, and quickness at her size. She is a playmaker, and when she’s fully engaged, she can take over games and be a highlight reel on the floor. If she ends up in the right college situation, she could really surprise some people.

I really got to know Shantel’s game sometime between her Freshman and Sophomore years of high school, and I always thought she would eventually make a bigger impact at Warren Central. But a Senior year transfer to Tindley has worked out for her in a great way, as she is a playmaker at both ends of the floor for a very good small school team. Shantel is strong for her size, quick, fast, and explosive. She is averaging 6.8 steals per game and able to really get into ball-handlers and make them uncomfortable. Additionally, she is averaging 13.0 points and 4.7 assists per game.

Shantel popped up on my radar in May with her play, also in Louisville. She is a long-for-her-size, strong, and athletic guard. She is an attacking scorer, very good at getting to the hoop and finishing through contact. She had a couple of nice finishes Friday in the game I was able to see. She has the skill to be a point guard, but I think she has more of a scorer’s mentality at this time. She could also become an elite defender with her physical ability.
