Shelby had been on my radar for a little while, and I had heard nice things about her from opposing coaches. But last Friday was my first opportunity to see her in-person, and she didn’t disappoint. She has a fairly strong frame at her size, she is quick with the ball, and she plays with her head up scanning the floor. She likes to find open teammates, but she is also a capable scorer herself, and she has touch with some range from the perimeter.

I felt like Shelby had a really nice showing for Concord in the time I was able to see her. She has a strong/solid frame, she plays with some shiftiness to her game, and she has a nice handle. She sees the floor, finds open teammates, plus she can get downhill and absorb contact or knock down open rhythm jumpers. She should have a lot of appeal for small colleges because of her ability to play both on and off the ball effectively.
