About Shylah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am team oriented and willing to take the big shot when needed. I’m not flashy but am mentally tough and able to step in the leadership roles as necessary. I am not an emotional player. I tend to have a reserved but confident demeanor and just go to work. I like shooting the three but can also drive downhill. I am only 5 foot 4 but enjoy defending down low.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am humble but confident and I don’t get rattled easily. I’m not an emotional player. I know the importance of body language. I am a hard worker and believe cheating on drills is only cheating yourself. I am performance driven by nature and try my best at everything I do whether it’s in the gym, weight room, school or playing music. My friends say I am kind and always have a smile on my face.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am the lead snare player for my high school band. I am a three times superior rated percussionist at the state level. I am active in FCA (Fellowship of Christian athletes) and was voted high school girl athlete of the year in 2026. I am a student council representative where I have opportunity to make our school a better place to be.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a follower of Jesus and base everything I do by his example, the confidence I have in him has helped me be an efficient leader in sports band and friendships. I have learned teamwork and commitment by volunteering at church playing the guitar and singing/leading worship I also have served the community during our annual serve day as well as with United Way in our town.

Mainly was a floor spacing threat, but did have a good “giant killer” floater when attacking one of the taller players at the camp.
