I mentioned Sophie earlier in the weekend, and her play continued to shine throughout Monday’s action. With fellow Batesville and IGB UA Rise teammate Alyson Peters Alyson Peters 5'11" | PF/SF Batesville | 2025 State IN injured, Sophie was much more aggressive and really sought out offense for her team. She scored the ball from the perimeter and off the dribble, plus she posted up a handful of times, and she was active on the glass. She is a strong, athletic forward who has proven she can play on the wing and in the mid-post. She should have several nice small college opportunities ahead of her.

If Sophie has proven one thing this Spring, she is a really nice athlete who plays with versatility. At the same time, I feel like she could have been a little more selfish/aggressive at times. Friday, she showed some of that. With her team shorthanded, she was much more assertive off the dribble, she looked to shoot it on the catch more often than just moving the ball, and she even acted as a primary ball-handler initiating the offense at times. While she has drawn quite a bit of small college interest this Spring, I think a balance between this aggressive side, mixed with her “team-first” nature, could be the next step in her progression as a prospect.

Sophie has put together a nice Spring thus far, and she has picked up quite a bit of small college attention because of it. She is a nice athlete and stands out at times because of her ability to run the floor, chase down rebounds, and attack the basket off the bounce. She is also strong enough to battle inside at times, but she’s also skilled around the perimeter and can handle it/shoot it as a wing.

The first thing you will notice when you see Sophie play is that she has length, a wiry strength to her, but she runs and jumps well, and she can quickly switch ends of the floor. She has a lot of the “measurables” in terms of physical talent, so this Spring & Summer will be huge for her to showcase her skill at all levels. I think she is still most comfortable in the mid-post, but she is attacking from the perimeter a lot more, and she’s becoming a more consistent perimeter shooter. I really like a lot of what she can offer a small college program, so this grassroots season will be big for her.
