Akiem Bailum | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The Red Devils will move from Region 3-AAA to Region 4-AAA starting with this season. Evans rejoins a Clinton squad that won 11 games last season on the strength of the team winning six of its nine home contests. She also has participated in AAU ball with Laurens County Sparks. Evans first began her varsity career when she was in the eighth grade. The 5-foot-3 shooting guard puts plenty of emphasis on taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers. Her rim attacking abilities combined with what she does as a scorer can throw many a defense for a loop and she makes plenty of plays as a defender. Getting out in transition is another element to her game.

Evans has been a name on many a radar of a Palmetto State basketball fan since she began playing varsity ball as an eighth grader. At 5-foot-3, her primary place on the court is at the two. While maintaining an emphasis on taking care of the basketball and limiting turnovers, she also will keep defenders guessing as they are unsure as to if she will attack or pass. Defensively, she also makes plenty of plays and can get out in transition as well. Evans can also score from virtually anyplace on the court. Evans had a noteworthy role in the 3A Red Devils qualifying for a tournament berth in 2021-22.
