We recently highlighted Chatman’s breakout performance at the Class 3A State Tournament earlier this month, but the dynamic, scrappy guard has been on our radar for several years. Tayja saw plenty of floor time with Totino-Grace in her freshman campaign, serving as a disruptive perimeter defender, and backup ball handler for the Eagles. Standing at 5’7, Chatman utilizes her physicality, strength, and quickness to get downhill to the basket where she excels at finishing through contact. A skilled passer with plenty of poise and keen court vision, Tayja will lead the way for Team FSA ‘s 2029 squad this spring.

After a slow start on Sunday, Chatman found her rhythm following a halftime breather and immediately impacted the game with a higher degree of assertiveness and aggression. Chatman is always at her best when she’s on the attack, blending strength and finesse to get downhill, showing a healthy array of point guard skills and quality court vision. With strong basketball pedigree, Tayja is a leader on both sides of the ball. We loved how she used her quickness and instincts to force turnovers for easy baskets.
