Prep Girls Hoops recently saw Clark a couple of days prior to the start of the tournament as she attended SCBCA Media Day. Given her talents and her veteran experience, opposing teams know exactly what they will get when the Cavaliers’ frontcourt star is in a uniform and sneakers. They know she can put plenty of points on the board from near the rim. Clark also managed to display her offensive versatility as a 3-point shooter. Those teams also know that she will grab plenty of rebounds and will win plenty of tough battles on the boards. Clark has no problems getting physical and will also deflect an opponent’s passes in the open floor.

(*PGH Preseason Player of the Year*)rnThe last time Clark wore a Cavaliers uniform, it was to help bring another state championship to the school. She had a banner game with a double-double – 15 points and 18 rebounds and translated that momentum into what she did on the AAU circuit with A’ja Wilson Elite. Clark will absorb contact and take her chances at the free throw line and as those statistics indicate, she is gifted as a rebounder and scorer. In addition to basketball, Clark also makes waves on the links as part of the Christ Church golf team. She is more than poised to conclude her high school career with an emphatic exclamation point.

Yasmene really came to play today with her effort and attitude on the floor. She was very efficient around the cup when it came to rebounding the ball and especially did a good job of rebounding it well outside of her area.

She has a nice touch from the elbow in and shows a good skill set of passing skills and willingness to work hard on defense. Yasmene could look to play Golf or Basketball at the college level. How will the Lady Cavaliers do this season making the move down to Class 1A in the Upstate?

Clark’s Cavaliers claimed claimed the championship for Christ Church last season and will be in search of even more title paydirt in 2022-23. Christ Church will compete as a 1A team this season on the heels of achieving 2A supremacy at USC-Aiken back in March. Her story can certainly be referred to as a comeback given her history of knee injuries. Clark plays the game on contact and has no problems absorbing contact and finding her way to the free throw line. She primarily plays the three and is a double-double threat on a game-by-game basis with her scoring and rebounding.
