Union is LOADED this year. And in order to carve out a role for the Lady Redhawks, Edwards will have to be an athletic, tough, do it all wing. The good news, she’s been all that. Shines with an outstanding motor, strength, toughness and quality athleticism. Along with doing the dirty work, she can help out with the playmaking. Good vision and handles to create off the bounce, or get into the middle of zones and make reads. Mix in the occasional spot up three, and Edwards will continue to rise as she does all the little things to make a big impact.

Yonae might be my choice of the player who made the most of the opportunity in front of coaches today. She showed her versatility as a guard. Handled the ball at the point on breaks, shot the outside shot and attacked the lane finishing at the rim. All out hustle on every play at both ends of the floor. Great communication skills talking to her teammates on defense and offense showing she has those leadership qualities.
2026 has received offers form several colleges. I think more will follow over the next few months as well. The senior will be a key part as Union looks to make return to state this season.

Edwards is one of those players I caught back in middle school that I saw an abundance of talent as well as upside because she was so powerful off the dribble and understood how to create her shot. Her range was on full display early as her “catch and shoot” from deep was nice, as was her finishing after contact and defense

The combo guard from Union that has a strong frame and did not mind getting physical on both ends of the floor. I have seen Yonae on film many times but did not realize how strong of a player she was till I saw her in play in person. I am old school and like that 3 guard position/slasher type. Yonae game is a perfect fit for that spot. A guard that can shoot the 3-pointer on the swing around. Guard that can finish at the rim or pull up in the gap hitting a mid-range jumper. Lastly always moving without the ball. Either cutting back door or cleaning up a offensive rebound.
On defense this weekend she defender basically 1-5 positions on the switches. Quick enough to defend on the ball and physical enough to displace the post on the block. The 2026 guard I believed had a strong weekend and caught the attention of several coaches in the stands

Edwards is a fun utility player to watch for the Redhawks, because she bridges the gap between their talented backcourt and high upside sophomore twins. Can help out on the offensive glass with her good leaping ability. Runs the floor hard and finishes well around the rim, with good body control. Even stepped out and hit a three in one win. Swiss Army Knife prospect, who simply impacts winning.

A combo guard with great size. The type of player as a coach you must have on the floor cause she makes things happen. On offense she moves well off the bal finding the open spots on the wing for a knock down 3. Impressive was her mid range game when driving to the rim. Nice footwork on the pull up jumper or step through getting to the rim. Defensively the kid you want guarding the other team’s best player. At 5’10 she has the skill set and size to play 2-4
