About Zya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is adaptive. I am able to adjust and maintain a sponge mentality; absorbing what’s needed to execute while releasing distractive elements.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am astute on and off the court. My mentality is tenacious & gracious. I am committed to lifelong growth. Failure is not an option however inevitable; dedication and effort yields self-actualization. I would describe my personality as optimistic, humble, and hardworking.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Marching Band- Baritone Concert Band- Euphonium Beta Club National Honor Society My Sisters Keeper

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Sophomore-Varsity Captain - aiding my team by modeling accountability - encouraging empathy when teammates are navigating barriers on and off the court - Remaining honest and completing task with integrity despite the severity or tediousness of the task.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges has been transitioning into an educational environment that differed severely from previous environments as it pertains to structure and overall flow. Being able to balance peer boundaries and knowing that everyone’s weight is not mine to carry; I am deciphering healthy ways to show up for my teammates and peers without loosing myself in the midst.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am in pursuit of a school that offers programs that align with my ultimate goals of becoming a prosthodontist (post wnba of course)
