Looking Back and Ahead : The GCAC White Division

Throughout the summer we will be providing a season recap of the girls high school conferences in Northern Illinois. The 2017-18 season recap will include team records , all conference selections, a season summary and a "Sneak Peek" as to what to look for in the 2018-19 season. This recap is for the White Division of the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference <strong>Season Summary :</strong> One of the deepest conference/divisions in the Northern Illinois area, the White Division touts many solid programs that were above .500  with great talent. Resurrection won the conference but had 4 teams chasing them that ended within 2 games of the top spot. The division has teams in Class 2A and 3A. Bishop McNamara, Regina Dominican, Resurrection will look to be competitive and round out the top half of the division. <strong>2018-19 Stock Risers  </strong> <strong>Ashley Ramer Providence Catholic: </strong> Ramer a 5'11 sophomore has ability to score inside and out. She will be tough for most conference opponents to defend as her shooting range extends all the way out to the 3 point line. <strong>Katelin Chaparro St. Francis</strong>:  A 5'5 guard , Chaparro is one of the best shooters in the division . Only a sophomore she led the Spartans in scoring a handful of times during the season . She will be recognized as one of the top players in the division this season. <strong>Avery Downes Depaul College Prep</strong> : At 5'10 Downes is one of the most athletic players in the conference. She will be a force offensively in the post for the Rams next season as well as anchoring their defense.<strong> </strong> Look for a Conference Preview and Coaches Interview for the White Division of the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference to be published in early October.
