Sadie Roth #40Prep Girls Hoops sat down with Harrisburg senior Sadie Roth to talk basketball! As she watched and cheered on her Tigers squad to win the Sanford Pentagon Fall league championship, you could see the anticipation on her face. Sadie has been working her tail off all summer long. She missed most of the AAU season due to injury. However, that didn’t stop her from working on her game. You could find her at her SD Attack practices “All Summer 18”, off to the side working on shooting. 5-foot bunnies, check. Mid-range, check. Draining 3’s, check. That was her routine.
“I’m looking forward to getting back out on the court!”, said Roth. “And my goal is to make it back to state, since we’ve been there two years in a row and lost.” Roth knows her high school team will rely on her heavily, once she returns. “I’ve been shooting a lot all summer, trying to expand my game. I’m going to be playing more wing/shooting forward, so it’s important that I get up a lot of shots before my return.”
In between traveling to Minneapolis and Chicago, helping cheer on her AAU team, Sadie took a couple college visits. She recently returned from a visit to Pittsburg State in Kansas. “I really like the campus and coaching staff, they showed me things about the school that I didn’t know.” Roth has been gaining interest from other schools around the area such as Missouri Southern State and Minnesota-Duluth just to name a few.
The 6-footer describes her pregame ritual as a weird one hahaha. “Before a game I like to eat a black olive pizza and jam out to some rap music!” That’s actually not that weird…… Roth draws her basketball inspiration from her mother Sarah. Who has been equally there for Sadie’s teammates as most parents are.
We are looking forward to continuing watching Sadie as she helps her Harrisburg Tigers reach the title game once again. Sadie already had great size inside. Now with her newly found outside game, she will add a dynamic to her team which will improve Harrisburg’s offensive outings.
