Everyone loves a dynamic point guard. Here in Michigan, we are lucky to be able to see some very talented players at that position. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="22371" first="Oretha" last="Cooper"]</strong> is a skilled lead guard in the senior class. She attends Taylor High School and is poised to have a big season.
<strong>Cooper </strong>is a skilled athlete that fans and college coaches will want to take a look at. First of all, she is a true leader. <strong>Cooper</strong> takes pride in her ability to run the show and make sure the offense runs smoothly. She is an aggressive player who likes to attack the basket. <strong>Cooper</strong> is a solid finisher through contact, and her attacking style opens the floor for her teammates as well. Defensively, <strong>Cooper </strong>is a difference maker. She likes to play in the face of the ball handler and looks for opportunities to create turnovers.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="22371" first="Oretha" last="Cooper"] </strong>has been hard at work preparing to make her last high school season a successful one. She has worked to improve her ball handling skills, with the understanding that they facilitate her offensive game. <strong>Cooper</strong> has stayed in the gym, taking advantage of every chance to get better. She has spent time in the weight room getting stronger and focused on practicing at game speed.
<strong>Cooper </strong>is prepared to accomplish all of her goals. She wants to top her career high of 31 points. <strong>Cooper</strong> also hopes to get recruited to play the game she loves, and maybe even earn a scholarship. Her team goals are simple: Improve and win more games. She knows that in order for that to happen, the team must have better communication and always be on the same page. On a personal level, <strong>Cooper </strong>wants to remain stress free and enjoy her senior season with her team.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="22371" first="Oretha" last="Cooper"] </strong>should have value to a coach at the next level. She understands that as a newcomer to a college program, she would need to learn from the veterans. <strong>Cooper </strong>would bring her aggressive and competitive nature to the floor. She would provide a college team with a player who truly understands what basketball is all about: Becoming a better individual and valuing the team experience.
"Who motivates me the most are all the people that I considered as my coach. All might not be coaching me at once, but I always learned what they taught me as their player. Although they could be hard on me, but that’s what I want.
