We will cover who you should watch for, the teams that could come out of nowhere, and of course, the bracket buster candidate. We will also list five players from each class that you need to keep an eye on throughout the bracket as they can really change the game in a hurry. The complete Region 8 bracket is posted below.
The Teams

Sidney (19-1)
Woodbury Central (17-4)
IKM-Manning (16-4)
West Monona (15-6)
AHSTW (14-6)
Logan-Magnolia (12-8)
Tri-Center (9-11)
St. Albert (8-12)
MVAOCOU (6-15)

Missouri Valley (1-20)
The Favorite
Treynor
With the most wins in the region, Treynor is firmly one of the favorites in this one. They are scoring 59.6 points a game and allowing just 31.6 points a game. Treynor does not rebound the ball very well only gaining 24.3 rebounds a game. That might end up hurting them in the end against the bigger teams. Konnor Sudmann, a senior, has scored 16.1 points a game for Treynor.
Sidney
Sidney is scoring the ball at a solid pace putting up 60.5 points a night. They have made the most 3-pointers in the region by knocking down 129 on the year so far. They are also shooting 66.2 percent from the charity stripe, good for second in the region. This is a very dangerous team, one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Junior Maddy Duncan has scored 20.0 points a game this year.
The Sleepers
Woodbury Central
Some tough losses on the year have put Woodbury Central on the outside looking in as far as the favorites in the region go. Compared to the other top teams they don’t score the ball as well but they do just keep on winning. Their four losses have came to teams outside of this region so matching up will be key for them. They have a great draw as they avoid both Sidney and Treynor until the finals. Both junior Maddie Paulsen and Sally Gallagher are leading the team in scoring. Paulsen has scored 15.5 points a game and Gallagher is scoring 14.3 points a game.
IKM-Manning
IKM-Manning will avoid Treynor until the region championship game if they are to meet again this season. Treynor has handed them two losses already this year in blow out fashion. This is a team that is going to learn to play with the big boys, and they might have to figure that out sooner rather than later. Sophomore Alexa Ahrenholtz leads the team with 15.9 points a game.
The Outside Shot
AHSTW
A little bit of a recent hot streak for AHSTW has put them back into the conversation to possibly shock some people in this region. They have dropped both contests with each Treynor and IKM-Manning, but winners of their last five games have gotten them off into the tournament will a little momentum. Look for AHSTW to possible throw in an upset or two. The Claire duo have led AHSTW this year. Sophomores Claire Denning and Claire Harris have led the team with 12.3 points a game each.
