Obviously, being a good player is knowing that comes in moderation but if you have plays and the roster to get her open off screening action - it's over. She averaged respectable numbers and helped her team win some ball games - which is really the goal in the grand scheme of things when we take a step back. She showed more of this promise this afternoon with some talented individuals standing in her way. She didn't kill everyone with flash and flare but fundamental play. They have a new coach, a new system, and they have a roster that is loaded with talent at a number of different positions - one of them being Ruddy as a 5'10 CG. Ruddy is that glue player. The Swiss-Army knife type. She can be placed in multiple situations and she can thrive doing whatever she is asked. Her natural height and athletic ability help that out a lot but I think we really need to highlight Ruddy's confidence. When she is putting in that work and within her flow-state, she is a tough individual to guard and a tough individual to score on - near and far from the hoop. That makes her journey really interesting. She has made a clear number of plays in front of us today that have opened up our eyes a little bit to what could be coming over the next few months."

"Ella Beason will be a prospect that the state of Iowa will learn much more about over the next 3-4 seasons. Beason competes out of the Quad Cities around of our state and she has proven up to this point that she is going to be a producer at whichever high school is lucky enough to have her. Right now, EB is a 5'9/5'10 SG with a lot of room to grow. Both literally and metaphorically. She is solid within her own abilities but she has the foundation to build that up to be something special. Somethings these events are about making moments your own and Ella Beason has done that time and time again throughout today so far."

I keep a notebook for all the events I cover live in-person. This is an easier way so that I can track multiple players and multiple things, all at once.

In this article I write down some of my lives notes around the prospects below and what we thought in real time as this event was taking place.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

"I'm not sure the OB will see the Varsity floor this Winter as an 8th grader but she will be someone to know about as she gets older for Iowa City Liberty High School. She is listed as a 5'6 PF but that's not accurate. If anything - she is a 3, who will end up being a taller CG when she steps onto the Varsity floor. If she sticks at this hieght then I could see her more as a SG when everything is said and done. Skill wise - she is very sound.
