A pearl is formed when a grit of sand invades an oyster. But in these mighty girls’ cases, they didn’t go unnoticed this season and demanded to be seen. These sleepers were big parts of the team’s success and are coming into the upcoming AAU season looking to impress, while developing their skills for the upcoming season.
ECC Conference
Aniyah Brown –Walnut Hills High School and Team Phenom (Cincinnati) JR Brown was a power house on the defensive end and gave a lot of top guard’s trouble when trying to get in the lane. She is quick on her feet and almost always was willing to step over into help and take a charge. Very good IQ for the game and always looks for the one more pass. Once she figures out her identity on the scoring end, she will be a very good pick up.
Dariyanna Wright– Withrow High School and Cincinnati Lady Tigers (JR) Wright is very shifty and great on her toes. She gets to the rim at ease and is developing a 15ft midrange from the couple of games that I’ve seen her play. Fast is her middle name and she uses that to her advantage. A little questionable on decision making as the PG for her team but her coach says she is learning the ropes and has a lot of upside to her game.
Azyiah Williams – Milford High School (Soph) Averaging a good 12.3 a game this season, Williams scored at will from all angles. With her very selective shot selections, the young sophomore showed wisdom beyond her years for Milford. Very explosive first step is what creates a lot for this small combo guard and look for her to have a great summer session as her stock will rise!
Oliva Hamilton – Turpin High School and Midwest TakeOver (Jr) Hamiliton is a powerhouse F/W with all the right tools to be the next big thing. She has a great feel for on ball defenders and creates space with simple but effective moves. Runs the floor well and understands the importance of defending her area.
Other Key Looks
Teliyah Dickerson (Withrow High School)
Elizabeth Holman (Anderson High School)
Marissa Jenike (West Clermont High School)
Darian Burgin (Walnut Hills High School)
