Jim Dabbelt is a lifelong resident of Southwest Ohio. Synonymous with basketball in Ohio, Dabbelt is considered by the experts as the premier media source in the Buckeye state for Ohio girls’ basketball and is the longest tenured girls basketball media personality in Ohio history with 39 years. Also from 1998-2008, Dabbelt was the Sports Editor Jim Dabbelt is a lifelong resident of Southwest Ohio. Also from 1998-2008, Dabbelt was the Sports Editor of the New Carlisle Sun and the Enon Messenger, where he earned over 15 writing awards during his time. He is currently the Sports Editor of the Tippecanoe Gazette, covering events in and around his hometown. The past nine years, he is also is responsible for writing the Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament preview story for the program sold at the state tournament. Jim has also covered the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins for Pens Daily, an internet-based media outlet that has covered the Penguins during their Stanley Cup championship runs in 2016 and 2017.
