There are a few girls that I am specifically questioning their position. I think they all have potential to rise in the rankings but I need to watch them a few more times before making my decision. Here are the top 2022 guards to watch this summer!
Jennah Isai (Valley Vista)
Jennah Isai is a must see. As a freshman, she has 7 big time D1 offers. If you have a chance to catch one of her games this summer, it would be wise to do so. I believe that she is going to be something truly special and will eventually go play at a big time program. While these expectations are very high, especially for a freshman, she has demonstrated the skills and motivation to reach that level.
Kam’Ren Rhodes (Sabino)
Rhodes is a very crafty guard. I really enjoy watching her play due to her high motor and shifty handles. I think she still has a ton of room to grow and an extremely high ceiling. I want to keep a close eye on her throughout the summer to see how she develops.
Jaida Brooks (Mountain Pointe)
Brooks is someone that I think might be too low on our initial rankings. As we observe and scout players more and more, we adjust our rankings to provide a more accurate rankings for our readers. I think she has a very good chance of rising in our rankings and I will be watching a couple more tournaments before making a final decision on her placement on our list.
Alani Encinas (Buena)
Alani has so much potential it is ridiculous. She has some of the tightest handles I’ve ever seen from a freshman prospect. She is quite the play maker and she is only going to get better as she grows. As she matures as a player, the game will slow down, her IQ will rise, and she will become an elite play making guard.
Trayanna Crisp (Millennium)
Trayanna Crisp is a player that I think we misplaced. I still need to see her play a few more times but she has had a large amount of people reach out and make her case to our writers. A lot of coaches have contacted us, saying that we may have overlooked her. When you have to rank over 150 players, it is easy to overlook some players. However, we will pay close attention to Crisp and see whether or not she needs to be moved up in our rankings.
