Teams are primarily comprised of Evansville-area kids, along with players from high schools in surrounding counties and into Kentucky and Illinois. They are always competitive, and while I have yet to view the 16U and 15U teams so far this Spring, I am familiar with several of their players from past years.
Indiana Elite S.W.I.S.H. 16U: This Sophomore group has a pair of frontline players who stand out for Coach Jack Trosper. Mariah Dickerson (2021) of Evansville Mater Dei is a strong, reasonably athletic, and skillful post who can control the low-block or step into the high-post and make jumpers. She is still returning to 100% following a knee injury last Summer. I also really like Rebekah Gordon’s (2021) game. She is a long, wiry strong, versatile forward from Heritage Hills who is tremendously productive scoring it inside of about 17-feet, plus she’s an effective rebounder at both ends of the floor. I also think Peyton Murphy (2021) of Evansville Memorial is someone small colleges will fall in love with. She’s a fairly strong, tough-nosed, high-motor kid who can play in the mid-post or around the perimeter equally well. Her versatility and effort really stand out each game. Their guards are somewhat smallish, but they can all contribute in a big way. Alaysha Brandenberger (2022) of Boonville poured in the points this Winter as a Freshman, and she’s a really nice shooter/scorer in Southern Indiana. Hannah Sisk (2021) of Princeton is tough as nails, and she’s a really nice combo guard who possesses good athleticism, the ability to shoot/score, and the ability to run offense efficiently. Avery Neff (2021) of Heritage Hills is another feisty little guard who flies around the floor making plays for her teammates. And Kalea Fleming (2021) of Loogootee is a tough-nosed, skillful guard who helped Loogootee to a successful season this past Winter. Unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with wing Caitlyn Madden (2021) of Evansville North and guard Kamryn McMahon (2021) of McLean County (KY), but in total this team should draw a little Division-I interest and a ton of small college interest.
Indiana Elite S.W.I.S.H. 15U: I am much less familiar with the 15U group, but there are three players who stand out to me at this point in time. Hadley Lytton (2022) of Heritage Hills is a really nice point guard prospect who can control the game and manage offense, or she can shoot/score and create baskets for others with her speed/quickness. Myah Montgomery (2022) of Southridge is an interesting wing athlete. Her 2021 brother has grown to 6-5 now and is a Division-I basketball and football prospect, as well as a Major League Baseball prospect. She has a lot of that same length and athleticism he possesses, and it stands to reason that she might still grow another inch or two in the next year. And Tecumseh forward Kaybree Oxley (2022) had a great Freshman year and was a big reason Tecumseh improved so much this season. She is a strong forward who can post smaller defenders but is great in the mid-post. Like the 16U team, I can see this group drawing some Division-I interest, along with a lot of small college interest.
