After a whole month of some high intensity AAU ball, we thought it was time for the rankings to get a much needed touch up. You will see some players make their debut on the list, some players greatly rise, and some players consequentially fall. I would like to update our rankings every month to keep a more accurate and comprehensive ranking. Here are the biggest movers and shakers in the class of 2021 for the guard position.
#3 Overall Jess Finney 5’11 G Chaparral (Previous Ranking: 5)
Jess Finney sees a small jump of two spots in our rankings but she was already high to begin with, being in the top 5 in our initial rankings. Now, she is in the top 3 and I think she has a chance to be a really special player. Will she move up even higher? Sky is the limit for this young shooter.
#4 Overall Kamryn Doty 5’5 G Sabino (Previous Ranking: 12)
Doty was among one of the most highly featured players in my direct messages. A lot of coaches thanked me for ranking her within the top 15 but suggested that she could be even higher. After watching her play in a couple of events, I am inclined to agree. Doty is one of the most polished point guards I have seen in a 2021 boys or girls.
#5 Overall Tatyanna Clayburne 5’9 G Perry (Previous Ranking: 19)
I will admit it, I missed this one. I was flat our wrong with my initial rankings having Clayburne at 19. She is 100% a top 5 player within the 2021 class. She is one of the best guards in the class and state. She recently received a couple of D1 offers as well.
#24 Overall Grace Oken 5’6 G Perry (Previous Ranking: N/a)
Grace Oken is new to our list, as I had not ranked her initially because I had not seen her play yet. After watching her play this far into the summer, I felt it was time for her to make her rankings debut. Oken makes her debut in our 2021 rankings within the top 25!
