Players to Watch: Ariyah Long who plays basketball at Wayne High School is a defensive specialist, and while she shines in that aspect of the game, she continues to work in the gym to improve her offensive game. An athletic kid who expects to be in the rotation for a very talented Wayne team this season. Another kid who has been productive for the Hoop Dreams team is Ellen Meyer, who is going to be a freshman at Centerville this fall. Already turning some heads with her solid play with this team, and has not scratched the surface of how good of a player she could be. Offensively, she is a capable three-point shooter, but from 15-feet on in, she is automatic. She is tenacious on defense, and plays with passion. Kaylee Warfield is yet another kid who is expected to have a good summer. The Mechanicsburg guard has a big heart for the game and can shoot with consistency. Looking to improve and work on her handles. Defensively, her effort is solid.
Sleepers to Watch: Brooke Strobel is another incoming freshman at Centerville, and is fitting in well with the older group. She has progressively improved her game and is seeing some good time for this team. Shoots the ball well, and has good length. Defensively she rebounds well, keeps her opponent in front of her, just needs to put on a little more physical strength. Destiny Wells is a point guard for this team, plays at Springfield and has been getting better every day for this team. Defends well, and is a good team girl.
