Guards are always abundant in the game of basketball. There are 3 designated guard positions: point guard, shooting guard and small forward or otherwise known as the 1, 2, or 3 position. Combo guards are those who can play a combination of multiple guard positions and/or possesses the skill set of each position type “hence the word Combo”. Each of these players perform what needs to be done on both ends of floor regardless of their opponents’ position due to their high skill set.
