I thought it would be really fun to do this series on the girls side as well and highlight some of our talented ladies in AZ. First up is Arizona Select.
Arizona Select pulled in quite a large amount of offers, as seen below. Offers range from multiple levels as they have many players in their program. All of their teams, at multiple age groups, are pretty solid. I’d say out of all of the players, 4 stand out as having the best summer, as listed below. What is exciting is that all of their key players are young and will be returning next season.
They’ve put together a pretty solid program that I think rivals long time powerhouse club team, AZ Elite. In my opinion these two programs are the top two in Arizona. AZ Select finished 5th in their division this year in the GUAA with a record of 4-6.
Jess Finney 5’10 2021 G
Jess Finney has had quite the summer! According to the AZ Select Twitter page, Finney finished the summer with 155 points, 35 rebounds, 51% 3PT, and 89% FT. Those are some ridiculous shooting stats if you ask me! Finney is one of the best shooters in the state and has seen some big time programs come in and offer her.
Taty Clayburne 5’9 2021 G
Clayburne had a good summer that saw her gain a few offers. She finished the GUAA with 85 points, 35 rebounds, 24 assists, and 5 steals. In my opinion, Clayburne is more of a scoring guard so it is really nice to see solid assist numbers. This just shows how talented Clayburne is and how well rounded of a player she can be.
Bridget Mullings 6’2 2021 F
Mullings had a pretty good summer as well, finishing with 101 points, 37 rebounds, and 63% FG. Mullings has seen a big jump in her recruiting this summer and is now trending upwards. I think a lot of other schools are going to come in and recruit Mullings.
Trayanna Crisp 5’9 2022 G
Crisp had a terrific summer getting her name out there a racking up some big time offers from some pretty notable schools. She’s only an incoming sophomore and already has a ton of steam behind her recruiting. Going to be very exciting to see how she turns out here in the near future.
