These are the players that I think everyone should be watching very closely, going into the next live event! Live Period Dates: July 6th-12th/July 21st-25th
Marisa Davis-Jones 6’1 2021 F Valley Vista/West Coast Premier
MDJ might have the most potential out of anyone in the state and that’s scary due to how good she already is and how much college interest she has already gathered. She is ridiculously strong and athletic. She attacks the basket with a lot of tenacity. It’s tough for defenders to stop a freight train from driving down the lane.
Alyssa Brown 6’1 2021 F Sahuaro/AZ Supreme
Alyssa Brown has a very soft touch around the rim and can stretch her game out a little bit to the mid-range. She also has a ton of college interest and I think her potential to grow matches that as well. It will be really interesting to see how good both AB and MDJ end up being by the end of their high school career.
Amanda Barcello 6’0 2021 F Seton Catholic/BSP
Barcello just keeps getting better. Every time I see her play, I feel like she has added something to her game or is at least showing something different in her game. She has no clear downfalls in her game, doing a little bit of everything well. If she can keep up this trend of improving every time I see her play, who knows where she’ll end up!
Bridget Mullings 6’2 2021 F Greenway/AZ Select
Mullings is a tenacious rebounder and low post scorer. Last season, she led all of Arizona in rebounds. She is a straight bully down low and knows how to utilize her size and strength. I don’t know of any coach that doesn’t want their players to rebound and Mullings is the best in the state in that regard.
