For those in Columbus, they had the chance to play in front of several Division 2/3/NAIA/JC coaches last weekend, the level of most of the players on the circuit.
Today, I will take a second look at some of the players who performed well at Capital University as part of the GBA College Exposure Classic.
Corinthia Webster (Dayton Metro Ballard)- I really liked her ability to play the post for this team, as she has some good post moves around the rim. Did a nice job with her post defense, as she was a strong presence on the boards. Showed some good promise toward becoming a good prospect for a high school team loaded with a lot of talent. She did her job with the Dayton Metro, and will continue to get better if she works.
Ally Grake (Cincy Chargers)- I was given the scoop on this young lady from a trusted source of mine, and was impressed with her game when I watched her play. This guard has good handles and is smooth on the court. Ally is an excellent on-ball defender and finds the right person with smart passing. She is quick to the rim, can finish at the rim. Good court awareness and a player who will be one to watch in the future.
Kylie Zurlinden (Cincy Shock Benton)- post player who is a good force in the paint with a multitude of skills. She has good post moves around the rim, can score and create. Runs the floor well in transition, has good hands and not afraid of contact. Solid kid on the boards who can protect the ball and defend.
Keegan McConahy (Strick Hoops)- this Pittsburgh area team had some quality players who split the two games that I saw. Keegan was a player who I had seen before, and she showed improvement with her ability to handle pressure and not back down to pressure. Can score from the perimeter, and can put the ball on the floor and penetrate. Athletic strong kid who handled the point, and rebounded well.
Maddie Downing Maddie Downing 6'1" | C Tri-Village High School | 2020 OH (Team Ohio Coffee)- was a main key to Team Ohio winning the 2020 championship. Has played tremendous this summer, very strong at the rim, able to score on anyone last Saturday. Gets into position to seal her defender and score. Strong rebounder.
