I saw the semifinals of both the 10th Grade and 11th/12th Grade Division games but not only did I catch the 9th grade championship game between Oklahoma Lady Chaos vs Katy, Chaos won 54-43 , I had a chance to see the battle for third place as Lee Green BBall-Lee defeated DC Sports Title IX Elite 58-28 and I’m assuming all of the players listed are in the Class of 2021
Mariane Parks
Lady Chaos had plenty of players to provide excitement however Marianne Parks definitely ignited the team as she plays with so much passion and coming off the bench to drop back to back threes definitely change the momentum. She dove for loose balls, played the passing lanes, whatever was needed, she was a spark. The inside play from Haley Prince, finishes strong plays and plays passing lane as well as Neveah Johnson who has athleticism galore. She’s long and active around the court, huge upside. Miranda Cagle was dropping the long ball as well and she attacked the basket nicely and speaking of that, the Chaos guards Desiree Parks, Campbell Gneich and Feather Twosheilds just keep coming at you on both ends of the court
Sting’s Sarah Sanders (shooting) and Riley SeverinKaty Sting gave me a great look , Kayla Bovin battles for everything although she’s a small guard, what’s that hashtag I use, #sizedontmatter when you can play. The energy Taytum Poppee brings, on both ends of the court, is something you can’t teach and that goes for the inside play from Riley Severin who rebounded on both ends and finished, with contact but the contact from long range came in droves as Sarah Sanders showed she could light it up as well as Aubrey Hernandez who has length and created her shot well, from mid to long range
Sydney McGary and Audrey Beaty
I’ve been watching Lee Green’s squads for years, poised, disciplined and just get the job done whether it’s a win or not. The inside play of Sydney McGary and Audrey Beady created problems all game as both not only rebounded and finished but the ran the court and defended. Bowden Jancek finishes strong, after contact as well plus she showed the long ball numerous times. The energy from Eveie Edwards helped them jump start the game as she does many things that don’t show up on stat sheet, Monica Simpson was diving on the floor for looses balls as well as well as on ball pressure defense while Kelly Blake is not only long and can attack nicely, she sees the floor well
Kadia WardTitle IX started off slow but they have talented players as well. Jamaya Miles can shoot the three effortlessly while Madison Caldwell uses her athleticism nicely and plays the passing lane. Kalecia Ward rebounds strongly and defends well. Kelis Grant made plays that stopped the momentum while Jala Wright use her length and athletic ability nicely to get to the rim and finish while Kadia Ward is one of those “never takes a play off” players as she’s very athletic, plays defense baseline and has range as well as a nice first step to get to the basket
