Not always as parents continue to buy into nonsense but I’ll come back to that later. I saw some 2020 posts that put in work, over and over and there were others however without a roster requested well before the event…..
Devon WilliamsDevon Williams-6’2 Austin Elite 17U- what’s intriguing about her is not really her physicality but the variety of ways she can score. That mid to long range at her size is a next level coaches dream because we all know college coaches love players over “the magic number” of 6’0 that can fill it up outside. Don’t get it twisted, she finishes strong as well as rebounds on both ends
Jimena Cortez-6’1 Sparks (SGBC) powerful body, doesn’t mind contact, giving nor taking but what she did really well was rebound and run the floor. Also ignited the break with outlet passes and showed a good feel for reading defenses, moving feet and stepping outside the paint to defend. She finishes strongly
Devin MayberryMadison Crowson-6’2 Waco Elite Blue-size and body plus mobility equals next level and that’s a formula you can take to the bank or “lab” and not worry about it blowing in your face. I caught her a couple of years ago and she left me with a lasting impression by how she handles herself on the court, stays poised and under control despite being hit over and over hard, yet she finishes with a smile. Good rebounder and defender
Devin Mayberry-6’0 Austin Elite Supergirls-one of those ” you will not outwork me players” and her performance at the camp on Friday was superseded by her “game situation” heroics. Diving on the floor and into the stands with tons of next level colleges during the viewing period catches college coaches attention but she does it no matter where, that’s how she plays and you can’t teach effort, want and desire no matter what you think. She’s strong, athletic, finishes inside or facing the basket and not only rebounds well but defends as well
