Here in Michigan, we are lucky to be surrounded by some of the greatest basketball minds nationwide. In Ann Arbor, Coach Barnes Arico has led the Michigan Wolverines since 2012, when she arrived from St. Johns. Coach Barnes Arico has won well over 60% of her games at the University of Michigan and is the winningest coach in program history. She has a vast knowledge of the game and is loved and respected by her current and former players.
This begs the question: What players in Michigan’s senior class could someday become a high level basketball coach like Coach Barnes Arico? Here are some players in Michigan’s class of 2020 that we may see on the sideline someday:

Her steady improvement and commitment to defense are teachable strengths of her game. Blanchard is respected by teammates and opponents for her style of play.

Bobo wants to be a leader. She’s willing to set the offense and put her teammates in positions to be successful. When watching her play, it’s easy to picture her coaching.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="23751" first="Cameron" last="Grant"] (F, Macomb Dakota)</strong>
Grant is as versatile as they come. She can effectively play multiple positions, and its easy to see her teaching them as well.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126245" first="Sanaya" last="Gregory"] (PG, East Lansing)</strong>
If Gregory can teach defense the way she plays it, that would equal a lot of wins. Her team first approach to the game would transfer well to the sideline.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126244" first="Dani" last="Salenbien"] (PG, Adrian Lenawee Christian)</strong>
Salenbien is the definition of a floor general. She knows the game and understands what needs to be done. It’s easy to picture Salenbien leading a team.

Any coincidence that a future Wolverine is on the list? Sollom is so technically sound in the paint, that she should teach it someday.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="23792" first="Alize" last="Tripp"] (G, Michigan Center)</strong>
Tripp is a team player through and through. She’s willing to play whatever role her team needs to get a W. Her understanding of the ’little things’ would help her be a great coach.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126237" first="Daija" last="Tyson"] (PG, Detroit Edison)</strong>
Tyson is a tough hard nosed floor general. No player would have an off button under her tutelage. Tyson would lead some of the most scrappy teams you could find.

Wagner is incredibly focused on her teams success. She is a hustle player that provides energy on the floor. If Wagner could convince 5 players to play in her style, that would turn into wins.
