The loaded Texas team had a fair amount of close games and showed off their talented roster. Here are five players that stood out against elite competition in their age group.
Rylee Grays
Grays best attribute is her potential. Still, a bit uncoordinated the 6’2” is a force on the court. She’s active, mobile, and unafraid to mix it up in the paint.
She was one of the Jr. NBA’s top rebounders averaging 10 a game leading to a double-double. Once her coordination catches up to her frame, this high motor athlete will be one of the hardest players to stop in Texas.
Logan Johnson
Johnson’s physical tools and feel for the game bode well for a bright future in the sport. While she didn’t shoot well from the field, she scored 10 points a game. Her 82% shooting from the free throw line may show promise that she’ll recover from her shooting slump.
DAsia Thomas
Thomas is a big time post prospect for this Cy Fair team. She’s tough to move on the block and capable of scoring over taller defenders. When using a drop stop to hook over her right shoulder. She’s the team’s leading scorer and second in rebounds.
Jalayah Ingram
In Ingram’s limited playing time she showed bursts of disruptive defensive potential. The incoming freshman finished top 10 amongst forwards in steals. She even flashed 3 and D potential shorting 37.5% from three over 5 games
Gisella Maul
Maul proved to be a tough cover as she uses her elusive handle to keep plays alive. She’s a shifty near 6-foot guard that lead her team in assist during pool play and their single-elimination game in Jr. NBA Global Championship.
She’s a long athlete with a high basketball IQ that gets to the basket with ease. Entering her freshman she’s going to be a problem for years to come.
